We’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t have a soft spot for the city that never sleeps—Hong Kong. For Curtis and Vivian, this trip from Canada was more than a visit, it was a chance to revisit and reconnect, and create new memories with their children and parents by the harbour.

Their family session began at The Cupping Room near M+, a cozy and relaxed spot that gave everyone time to settle in before heading outdoors. Over drinks and pastries, the start of our shoot felt warm and at ease from the very beginning. Their daughter brought so much personality to the first part of the shoot — Curtis and Vivian were laughing together to this sweet start of the morning.

From there, we continued the session around West Kowloon, one of our favourite places for relaxed family portraits in Hong Kong. With open space, soft coastal light, and the skyline stretching across Victoria Harbour, it gave us the perfect setting for both candid moments and timeless family photographs. It is a location that feels both iconic and easygoing, which made it especially fitting for a family reunion session.

We walked along the waterfront, letting the children lead the pace. Their little girl held hands with Vivian, pausing every so often to look out at the harbour, while Curtis carried their baby boy close. The morning was bright and breezy, and the movement of the session felt effortless. Walking, cuddling, laughing, playing, and stopping whenever a sweet moment naturally happened.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was photographing Curtis and Vivian’s children with their grandparents. Since the family had flown back to Hong Kong, this reunion carried an extra layer of emotion. For many families living overseas, time together with grandparents can feel especially precious, and documenting that connection becomes more than just a photoshoot, it becomes a way of preserving family history.

Seeing three generations together against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour felt especially beautiful. There was a sense of homecoming in the session: the children experiencing Hong Kong with their parents and grandparents, the family gathering in a familiar city, and everyone taking a moment to simply be together. These portraits will one day remind the children not only of how small they once were, but also of the love that surrounded them during this trip.

West Kowloon was the perfect place for Curtis and Vivian’s story. It was spacious enough for the children to explore, scenic enough for classic Hong Kong family portraits, and relaxed enough for everyone to enjoy the morning without feeling rushed. Beginning at The Cupping Room near M+ also added a lovely lifestyle element to the gallery, giving the final collection a mix of cozy indoor images and beautiful outdoor portraits by the harbour.

Kind Words from Curtis & Vivian
Our family of four recently had a session with Amy, and it was the best experience we could have hoped for. We had come to Hong Kong for vacation, and wanted to fit in a shoot with the kids to commemorate our first trip, and Amy and her team made the whole process incredibly pleasant.
From arranging things halfway across the world prior to the shoot (scouting locations, communication, etc.), to the actual shoot itself (helping with the kids and strollers, giving directions for the family, capturing the moments) - everything was done professionally with warmth.
And the photos were fantastic! Amy and her team helped us capture special family moments that we will be able to look back on for a lifetime. Her talent and dedication to this craft is clear. And it was a joy to get to know her more through the entire process.
